So that made me download the v6.5 trial
And try out Marketplace | ITN Source (which I use in a v. painful
download / import way currently)
And it sends my browser to http://www.itnsource.com/avid - which is a
'system error' on the ITNSource website.
OK, so I'll try the other library on offer T3 media... register etc...
browse within browser within Avid, all quite neat (although browser
title bar hidden by apple menu)
Select a couple of clips - add to 'my clips' bin - download - and they
download and appear in one of my bins, AMA linked to the H264
Cut them into the timeline and go and see about clearing rights and
downloading full res - seems like a whole bunch of hurdles to go through
especially as they seem to only be available on 'tape'.
So, to answer my own question, this doesn't look ready for casual use
yet....

laboratory shots that didn't quite fit the bill. Included on the page
was Lab fetching stick in water. Seems the search engine on this Broll
site is pretty broad. Perhaps there is a more refined way to search
their database. Lab equipment and no Yellow Labs comes to mind. I'll
have to give that a try when I get home. Oh and I did google myself and
OKI Dog. Unfortunately I only have 4 gigs of Ram in my MBP so it
couldn't display all the hits. ;-)

companies older storyboard software. The biggest problem was always
finding key props when you needed them- otherwise, though, a pretty
useful tool.

3d interface-ish, and will probably use that if I ever get around to
making another film. Still, this is an interesting alternative to
'insert shot of car here,' especially if you bill by the hour!!
