Re: [Avid-L2] Saving effects question

I do this all the time. The project relationship is irrelevant in this
case. If the bin lives in the project folder, it won't show up in the
Other Bins folder..it will be treated like any other bin already in his
project, and be instantly available in the project window (assuming it has
the .avb extension). Not a big difference to do it your way, as making a
new bin and dragging the effect to it takes about 2 seconds, but just
dragging the effect bin from the usb stick directly to the project folder
(thus copying it) is a simple single step.

The "other bins" folder only appears when you open a bin from outside your
project folder. It is not affected by the project affiliation in the
bin metadata.
It's the physical location of the bin that causes it to appear in the
Other Bins folder.

Having the correct project association might have some importance with a
bin of media, for other media management reasons, but for an effect
template its meaningless.
