Re: [Avid-L2] Re: OT: Anybody working with G Raid Thunderbolt drives yet?

Thanks John! That's useful info.

And somedays I need more juice too.

Best,
Shirley

I haven't had any issues with my off again on again use of Graids. I've got a
500GB unit that has been solid since 2009 for several projects. In my
experience almost all the problems I've had with external drives has been
related to marginal power supplies that lose their output as they age. Sure
drives go bad but I've had several instances where I drive won't spin up and I
swap the power supply with a similar unit and voila it works. Meanwhile the
problematic power supply will spin up other drives. I figure some drives need a
little extra current and or voltage to get them moving. Kinda like some chores
my wife gives me require a bigger boot to get me moving and then I spin up.
