I have no personal experience with G-Raid, but there sure are a lot of failed units and negative responses out there.
I think Thunderbolt on a Mac platform is more than ready-for-primetime. However, you might want to do some searching about failed G-Tech units -- and maybe take a short look around the COW G-Tech forum to get a sense of what's happening:

Just my opinion, but were I to go the Thunderbolt route, I think I'd be looking more at products from companies like CalDigit. However, others on this list may disagree.
