I use progressives as well (with three foal length ) and have for about ten years.
I used to get neck aches and headaches as well, but when I'm working at a facility I now make sure that the monitors ore at eye level, or better yet, below eye level.
I hate the desks that have monitor bridges. They are torture. If the room has a bridge I politely ask to have it removed. I work a lot better if I don't have a constant headache.
Luckily I mostly work on my own system so I have Dell monitors that can be adjusted up and down. Not as elegant as Apple monitors, but they work. The video monitor is at eye level as well.
My eye doctor also suggested that I get the same lenses, but in a larger frame which makes it easier (and less head and neck movement) to concentrate and work. I also take frequent breaks and try to spend as much time outside as I can.
Getting old's a bitch. It ain't for the faint of heart.
Tony
PS The Avid font in Symphony 6 IS worse. PLEASE AVID let is change the font sizes in the marker tool and the Effects menu. They are torture for any editor who has passed the age of puberty.
