Regardless of the attict issue the bins themselves shoulf be auto saving at the appropriate interval. I have my auto save at 3 minutes but I mostly online so perhaps that's not as daunting a save as a full blown offline shared project. After the first crash I start manually saving the sequence bin with CMD+S or Ctrl+S on PC. Not a solution but then you don't lose a day's work.

Working off of Isis version 4.2 on Mac OS 10.7.4. None of my media drives are over 85% nor over 1TB.

I have checked the bin save settings in each user setting and it is correct, but when trying to recover a bin, the bins simply do not exist, and there are not more than 100 bins in one folder so I do not think it is a space/filling up issue. I have checked avid attics on the Isis and on the local drive (which is not utilized). Someone suggested saving locally, but that means the project would be local which I do not want to resort to. This is my biggest problem. The crash usually occurs during graphic creation within Avid and sometimes in Magic Bullet.

I read in a forum that it is better to create an "ama link" column and to manually type in the folder pathway to where media lives (I was inserting a tape name of the folder that media lives in and then that ended up hurting the link). I always make sure All Available Drives are selected with nothing checked and to relink to "any video" (making sure there aren't any SD media mounted). Some clips relink, some don't. I always add this ama column to the links BEFORE I transcode so that this column carries to the SD clip and the timecode matches (DF). I also never change the clip name. Does anything stand out that I am doing wrong? I have been overcutting clips that do not work, but I am fearful of when locked cuts come in and there are 5 layers of effects I have to step into before I can overcut - talk about time consuming (and yes there are 5 layers on every clip - very effect heavy show).
