Well I seem to have the latest XF 64 bit version after going to the link on the avid ama page. I even tried downloading the Canon XF utility but it seems to only want to read off Camera cards and their virtual media volumes don't seem to let me browse to these files and load in clips from a folder. Judging by the options of NTSC, Pal and 24 I don't know what the utility is designed for unless they are miss using those terms and by NTSC they mean anything even HD that runs at 29.97/59.94. I don't see a way to load in a clip so I'm hanging my head in ama shame and using clip wrap, plus my shoes and sock are soggy to boot. l-(

The clips start at 00000 and go to 00090. Well I must say with all this flood of information I've been multitasking in failure mode. While testing earlier I managed to flood my house when the toilet clogged. Had to pause and squeegee, mop and towel the two rooms with of course hard wood floors. Can't wait to see how warped things become in the morning but I guess they can't get more warped than my ama linking. And to top things off this is of course a low budget show. Oh if only I was billing hourly. ;-)

I can populate the bin and see the clips and they appear to be H.264 29.97 interlace according to the video column but when I load a clip into the source window I see a frame, probably first frame, and then I get the beach ball of bite me John your not going to get this to work. Or at least that's how I interpret this. I have tried this on both 10.6.8 and 10.8.3 and each time I load a clip I get the beach ball after a second and Avid hangs. The B camera card 1 folder worked fine but now the A camera card 1 folder is doing this. They are two different cameras but the folder structures are similar although I see more things in the sub folder of the A camera. I even tried removing the stuff that differs from the B camera and it still ama linked to volume but I still get the beach ball when loading into the source monitor. I also get the beach ball if I just link to ama volume and go straight to transcode. In the console I see the link to ama volume was successful using the mts avid ama plug in so no forseen error there just an issue once I load a clip into the source monitor or try to transcode. If I unlink a clip I can load it into the source monitor as media offline with no beach ball but that really doesn't help get it done. I do know I can use clip wrap and create .mov's but I was hoping to be more elegant. What are the likely cameras that "DCIM", "MISC" and "Private". Sounds like a cannon 5D or would this be the new 300 models. I'm pretty sure I installed all those ama plug ins. Besides if I didn't have the right one it wouldn't link to ama volume or would it?
