And what do I find in the latest version? Did they put RS422
in it or something? Without it, the only broadcast niche they can aspire to is YouTube.
I disagree with some of your assessments and agree with others.
The way I see it the problem was in NOT ignoring FCP. Avid released scaled-down products to compete with FCP and, - worse - went to compete at the price point. FCP should have been ignored and left for the hobbyists. Also you don't want to take serious a product that is not taken seriously even by its publisher - yes, I do mean FCP7.
So there was not enough arrogance as far as the FCP is concerned.
There was plenty of arrogance, however, in statements like 'no more development for Mac' and in the general rest-on-laurels attitude.
