Not specific to Canon cards in the past I've had cheap card readers mess up our 2006 iMac. I forget the exact symptoms but the quirky behavior stopped when I removed the card reader and replace it with an only slightly more expensive Sony MultiCard reader. Not exactly the issue you describe but as Steve suggests worth trying another reader. Also I tried Treasured just two days ago with my Problematic P2 clip and they say they can fix it for $119.00. It's worth a try the assessment is free. Have you tried amaing to the QTs? I'm finding different behaviors between avid ama and P2 Log Pro where each one will play different sections of the problem clip. Maybe worth a try if you alread haven't. Also it was interesting when I ran the treasured app it automatically entered "Camera battery died during the recording of this clip." I haven't been able to determine if that is a default entry to the "Reason for Problem" field of data or if the program was actually analyzing the metadata of the problem clip. I'm waiting to hear back from them on this question. HTH
