Just an FYI. I've confirmed with the tech support of P2 Log Pro that there is a bug in activation with OS 10.8. They do not claim compatibility with OS 10.8 yet. The bug is the activation won't hold after quitting. I was told 10.8 has changed where certain preference etc... files are stored hence they need to rework their code to work with OS 10.8. At least the program works once you inter the serial/activation code unfortunately you have to do it every time. I also learned the P2 Log Pro does not repair the video it rebuilds the .xml file repairing the folder structure. They suggest their Proxy Mill to fix video clip issues and there is a 100 clip trial so I may give it a whirl if I can't get another copy of my problem folder. Here is an interesting problem Tech support informed me of:
"Is the 'bad' part of the video at the tail end only? That's a typical
problem that can occur when a P2 card is copied with Finder. What
happens is when you browse the card with Finder, Spotlight writes a
little index file onto the card if it's unlocked. This gets priority and
'pushes' the ends of bigger files (which happen to always be video
MXFs), damaging the last frames of them and sometimes making them
unreadable at all."
These folks are very helpful in troubleshooting all this wonderful file based voodoo.
