[Avid-L2] .MTS require Clipwrap to get into Avid SNDX 6.5.2?

I have these ama plugins and I've gone back to my OS10.6.8 startup drive because of the change in how the avcHD card folder is seen by the OS.:

I see the MTS MSP plug in installed should that not allow amaing to the infor off a drive?
The folder structure is "Day_7 11/4/12" "Cam_B" "Card_1" then 3 folders "DCIM", "MISC" and "PRIVATE". Inside "Private" is "AVCHD" folder and inside that is "AVCHDTN" and BDMV. Inside "BDMV" is "CLIPINF", "index.bdm", "MOVIEOBJ.BDM" "PLAYLIST" and "STREAM". Inside "STREAM" are the .MTS clips labeled 00000.MTS to 00090.MTS These .MTS clips can be accessed by clip wrap to converto to DNX 220 .movs which work in Avid. If I read the thread I posted above it sounds like I should be able to ama link to volume but so far no luck. Could the "/" characters in the date be a problem or are there more than one style of .mts? Also what gives with the way the folder is presented in OS 10.8.3 suddenly the Private folder appears as an avchd icon. I played a little with showing package content and I also renamed one for a test the Private AVCHD icon and it seemed to appear like a folder like it does in OS 10.6.8. I'm trying to avoid clip wrap and learn
more about what's going on. The production company is under the impression that clipwrap is the only way to get these files into Avid but I would the the MTS ama plugin would work. I'd appreciate anybodies experience here.
