Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Avid Symphony Colour Correction feature requests

So sad, so true. I don't understand why Avid could never find the love for this child of theirs.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Re: Avid Symphony Colour Correction feature requests

At least as far as my own workflow, Symphony CC is DOA (relational or not).
However, I recognize, appreciate and respect that others may feel differently.

I was quietly hoping that Baselight's delayed release of the PC version of the
FilmLight plugin was, somehow, an indicator of something significant that might
be announced at NAB -- but I now sincerely doubt it.

Unfortunately, Avid has completely ignored over 10-years of Feature Requests by
loyal customers and facility owners. And now they likely don't even have the
resources (money and meatware) to address the shortcomings in any meaningful
way.

It seems obvious to me that if you can't 'grow' professional toolsets within
your own organization -- you have no choice but to outsource them.
Unfortunately, that memo (along with many other memos) has not yet been
delivered to the decision makers -- and we are all suffering for it.

one right now would be to be able to add multiple power windows within one grade
(DS can do this with a graphics node), be able to mask them and not have to add
10 layers or separate effects for 10 different color corrections on 1 shot.
I've been using Paint Effect with color adjust lately but it is very limited in
controls.

something similar in Resolve by grouping shots.
