Re: [Avid-L2] Google Drive automatically re-encodes video?

 

Dom, thanks for this link. I'm surprised that Google Drive
understands DNxHD. The Google Drive link (below) doesn't list DNxHD as
a supported codec; is this a secret capability already available from
Youtube or Vimeo?

I know that Google's "cloud computing" philosophy aims to supplant
desktop apps; eg. if you receive an Excel spreadsheet attachment you
can view it directly in GMail (or edit it online in Google Docs). But
I didn't know until now that Google was extending that "view any file
on any device" capability to video.
