May I ask why you are deinterlacing? You are throwing away half the
resolution.

Is this for a computer display that can only display progressive properly?
Otherwise, it's best to leave it interlaced.

If you are seeing jaggies on a TV, it is likely the problem is inverted
fields (HD is upper field first, NTSC SD is lower... You need to handle
this properly).
