So a few people had PSE episodes and subsequently they were able to figure out the exact red patterning that caused the episodes? In the reported cases were they able to determine the exact moment the PSE was induced? Red patterning sounds like a pretty broad statement.
Given the enormous amount of color, brightness and contrast variance in consumer monitors what's red on one monitor will be a different red on another. How does the surrounding environment effect the chance for PSE to be induced? What makes these "Red Patternings" or other aspects of the image unique to Television broadcast? Don't they occur in nature also? And are the same evaluations done to theatrical films? I'm not expecting you guys to know all the answers but these are the questions that come to mind for me. It just has the ring of, oh well that didn't quite work so now I'll try this. I'm clearly skeptical of trying to make a relatively exact science of something that seems hard to clearly define. I can't imagine they went back and made the people who had seizures watch the show again to see if they can pin point the problem, that would be inhuman.
