You need to know about the following information:
We launched ISIS v4.0.4 today, March 22, 2013 to address an i4000 ISB issue in ISIS 7000.
Why is this information important?
ISIS 7000 V4.0.4 is a mandated upgrade for all customers using the ISIS 7000 i4000 ISB.
Overview
ISIS 7000 v4.0.4 patch for systems using i4000 has been released. This patch addresses memory error issues encountered with i4000 ISBs. This patch is delivered as a v4.2.1 kit; which includes the v4.0.4 for ISIS 7000 infrastructure and v4.2 client (as previously released).
ISIS v4.0.4 (v4.2.1 kit) update:
Includes a memory controller timing change that reduces the ECC memory errors encountered by a small number of i4000 ISBs
Additional logging
This patch MUST be applied to all systems that include i4000 ISBs.
This must be installed on:
ISIS 7000 System Director(s)
ISIS 7000 iXS & iSS switches
ISIS 7000 ISBs (all sizes including i500, i1000, i2000, i4000) must be upgraded in all systems with i4000 ISBs
ISIS v4.0.4 Compatibility
ISIS v4.0.4 is compatible with the following Avid product versions:
ISIS Client v4.1 and v4.2
Avid Media Composer, Symphony: v5.5 (with v4.1 client), v6.x and v6.5.x
Avid NewsCutter v9.5 (with v4.1 client), v10.x and v10.5.x
Avid Interplay Central: v1.2.2 & v1.3
Avid Interplay Assist & Instinct: v2.6 & v2.7
Avid AirSpeed: v2.7.2
Avid AirSpeed Multi Stream: v1.8.6
Avid AirSpeed 5000: v2.0 and later
The ISIS 4.2.1 kit containing v4.0.4 is available now on the Avid Download Center and will available from Manufacturing as soon as possible.
Note that ISIS v4.2.1 / v4.0.4 is applicable for ISIS 7000 systems, there are no updates in this release for ISIS 5000 and ISIS 2000.
