Currently Avid supports AS-02 versioning and in their promo vid, they say they will expand this to different volume writebacks in the future so i guess it's not unreasonable to expect that AS-11 support is added to this capability. I think the DPP metadata tool just associates the correct metadata with your .mxf file. It takes you through all the various details you need to fill out like descriptions of the content, video and timecode info, audio details like track layout and loudness standards and then lets you link these to your file. I think it's meant as an interim solution until third parties start adopting the standard. I'd like to know if anyone's had any success creating a file out of Avid and marrying it using the DPP app to create a broadcast ready bundle.
