I was given a DV PAL Quick Time for a few shots to be sharpened in Symphony. It was a News Piece shot on XD Cam, and edited in FCP 7, exported as DV PAL. When looking at the QT on a Mac, it looked fine. When viewed using QT Pro on a Windows machine, it looked very low res, with extreme blockiness, and unreadable text. When imported to Symphony, it looked the equally bad. However, if AMA linked to the file, it looked fine in Symphony as it did on a Mac. Transcoding the AMA linked file in Symphony solved the problem, but does anyone have an explanation of this?
