I wonder it they ask most VO guys if they know final
cut and After Effects. ;-)
It's only a matter of time.

Subject: [Avid-L2] OT: Is it time for a career change?
Today I got a call from someone at a production company while I was busy at
work. I said I'd call back but after a short time they called back. I had some
time and we started to talk. The persons name sounded familiar and he said a
friend had worked with me before and recommended me. We started to talk and he
told me he had an hour show for a cable channel and it had 20 VOs. I thought it
strange to tell the online guy how many VO's but so be it. The conversation
continued for a couple minutes with him telling me they'd tried some in house
guys but they weren't edgy enough. I figured they wanted to jazz things up. It
finally dawned on me that he was looking for a Voice Over talent. Somehow he
had gotten my number mixed up and thought I was either a VO guy or a VO agent.
We both had a good laugh. Turns out he had tried to get me for online work last
year but it didn't work out. Oh well time to add VO talent to the ever
increasing
Preditor list of skills. I wonder it they ask most VO guys if they know final
cut and After Effects. ;-)
