[Avid-L2] Re: Help with presentation to small independent filmmakers

 

Prepare, plan, prepare and prepare more. What I tell my students is that "shit rolls down hill and the edit process is at the bottom. Chicken shit at the top of the hill is not chicken salad at the bottom". Make sure you acquire plenty of good material on locations. I make my folks do a script, board, shot sheet and figure out alt shots for each camera set-up. Pre-scout your locations for sound (noise) lighting and availability. Take your time and its ok to shoot ALOT of footage because some of it will end on the cutting room floor. Better too much than too little. And then prepare some more.
