Using v6.5 here...
If you export a QT Ref, it should respect selected tracks if you check the
"use enabled tracks" checkbox in the export options dialog. A top-track
submaster works just fine for me, versus a mixdown. In your media creation
settings, do you have "same as source" unchecked in the "render" tab? That
could make a difference, couldn't it?
