Yes, agreed about unified drivers. Even with the MC 5.5 drive, having to uninstall and reinstall each time I want to switch between Avid and FCP is a PIA. Partitioning with two different start ups is equally painful. I like the MXO2LE but have found Matrox to lag far behind on the updates. With open architecture it would be nice to have a unit that works with both without having to jump thru hoops.
