well, i got a customer with the same problems, and i've made a simple thing
to rewrap the H264 to QT,
with uncompressed sound, to AMA in the rewrapped files.

However, it does not work for me (got dropped frames / artifacts) but he
swears it works for him.
Give it a try, you might get lucky!

I've never used it, but I've heard people sing its praises for bringing
AVCHD media in to Avid. There is a free trial on their website.
