Sounds interesting but looks like it is only Mac based. We are on PC here.

You might try ClipWrap. http://www.divergentmedia.com/clipwrap

I've never used it, but I've heard people sing its praises for bringing
AVCHD media in to Avid. There is a free trial on their website.
