Re: [Avid-L2] Meridien OMF files?

I thought older Avid systems always stored the OMF and AIF audio as separate, so it would make sense that the audio isn't in the OMF file. Were there AIF or WAV files in that Avid MediaFiles folder?

Older OMFs could also have the video for a specific file broken into numerous OMFs if the file is so long that it exceeded the 2gig file size limit (or maybe it was 4gigs, can't remember).

These should be visible and openable and useable by a modern Avid system using the Media Tool alone, but it would be much better if you could have the actual bin or bins that were originally associated with that media.

I have an old Meridien Avid system... if worse comes to worst I could convert them here. I haven't had it up and running for probably three or four years, but it's all there... I could probably have it up and running in less than an hour.

Everyones favorite L2 member 'video toolshed' even made me a nifty tool, but it wasn't practical for the scale of the project. (or, more accurately, the commitment of the filmmaker.)
