When I was GM of a Henninger Media Services division in Richmond I brought in an Occupational Therapist to analyze each workstation for my editors/artists and even account folks. Luckily, that OT was my wife, so the cost was reasonable! But, by looking at how the Flame guys worked, we changed chairs and put foam "spacers" on the stylus pens they worked with to avoid shoulder and hand problems. We also changed chairs for editors so their arms/wrist/elbow alignment was correct. Even if we did have to pay for an OT eval, it would have been worth it for editor/artist health and morale in the entire shop.

Obviously, sitting in a dark room in front of various monitors all day long can cause physical hardships relatively quickly. Any tips from the pros on how to avoid common pitfalls like eye strain and muscle soreness, and/or how to preserve mental clarity through long edit sessions?
