[Avid-L2] Re: 100 v 145

 


You can't tell from the numbers as DNxHD is not Long GOP and XDCAM is. So there isn't a direct comparison. I would say do your own testing and see what you think. You could take two complex scenes from higher resolutions, and transcode them to 100 and XDCAM 35, and then do a difference matte between the originals and the transcoded to see which holds up better.

My experience is the long GOP starts to fall apart on fast changing images like whip pans, fast zooms, etc.
