I've contended a number of times in the past that Avid needs to address the
needs of smaller users in their workgroup stuff...

I'd love to see Media Composer suites be able to operate in a peer-to-peer
way, for example. One 'master' MC suite becomes a mini-Unity for 1-2 client
suites. They share media and projects over ethernet.

Or an inexpensive software only Lanshare server that could support 2-4
clients and install on existing hardware an interface with generic storage.

In the meantime Adobe's product looks interesting and I'll keep an eye on
it. It won't be replacing our Avid/Editshare workflow any time soon but
it's interesting for sure.
