I second this, though I like to have the option to sit some of the time, since my feet just plain start to hurt after standing for about an hour. Most of us don't get to work at sit/stand consoles, so if you're stuck at a desk, stand up whenever you can for periods. Sometimes I'll screen cuts or footage standing, since I don't need to be interacting with the system as much for these parts of my job.

I'm going to do my evangelization thing and suggest that you cut standing up.
Speaking for me only, I find that working all day standing up gives me more
sustained energy, unparalleled focus, and zero muscle soreness or foot or leg
fatigue.

Obviously, sitting in a dark room in front of various monitors all day long can
cause physical hardships relatively quickly. Any tips from the pros on how to
avoid common pitfalls like eye strain and muscle soreness, and/or how to
preserve mental clarity through long edit sessions?
