I've had no issue going QT Ref out of Avid to get 4 tracks of audio and then save as self contained QT in QT Pro. The delivery spec is .mov in Avid codec in this case uncompressed. My QC issues are not do to gamma shifts and are more based on misinformed Monkey information. My feeling is they get a lot more garbage now that they take files even though your still have to provide a tape backup in my experience most people don't scrutinize the file like they should. All things considered if the tape output is right the file should be too as long as the workflow has been determined to yield proper levels on the file. The bars on my file are correct it's just some overzealous concern about 7.5 IRE.

They are also using a Tek wfm 7120 so that's good. While on the phone the tech rechecked and basically agreed it was okay but said they would do a 2nd double check on their end.
