[Avid-L2] Re: [OT] Calculation of luma SD vs. HD

 

My understanding was that the original phosphers used on the early SD CRT displays had a limited colour reproduction and this required the RGB values to be what they where.
Modern displays and even modern CRT displays aren't limited like that any more and HD as a new fiat was the chance to correct the issue.
