[Avid-L2] dissolve render times

 

What would make simple dissolves take 7 to 8 minutes to render? I am working on a doc, granted, a two year long project that has ballooned to over 2 gigs in size (yes that is just the project size). Today I am doing some near final tweaks on acts and for some reason, simple dissolves are not rendering in less than several minutes.

What gives?
