That's also when technical errors showed up easily and big time, noticeable
by anybody watching. Heads out of alignment, huge dropouts, etc. Also it
was when setting up to bars and aligning the machine was just part of
loading the tape. The stuff we're talking about in this thread is hardly
noticeable by the general public and, too often, falls under the category
of "good enough." Nobody who matters complains, so it just keeps happening.
Ugh.
