There are many tormented sentences for sure! This sort of thing is way too common in all sorts of media, including the products that are my responsibility.

I'm less concerned about the inferred politics of the article than I am
about the grammar and spelling skills of the writer. The article reads
almost like it was translated from another language.

Like most picture editors, I can't claim to be good with the spelling,
but I like to think I can execute a sentence. Does Lynda.com offer
journalism courses?
