[Avid-L2] video mixdown reduce quality?

 

Often using QT reference introduces weird shifts in gamma or color during dissolves or titles over video. So I have been making video mixdowns and then the QT ref which seems to eliminate that problem. If I want to master out to Pro Res this way, any quality hit or is it best to export to Pro Res right out of Avid?
