Many of the users have been advocating a software consolidation for years. They were also arguing to dump Pinnacle YEARS before Avid finally did that. How long do you think it will take Avid to come to the same MC/Sym conclusion? Fast and bold decisions don't seem to be in the DNA. Slow and don't upset the apple cart are more like it. Meanwhile the world moves on.
