Have you tried copying from script text add pasting in search box, that way the apostrophe should be the same. If Avid finds nothing then I believe you found something to be fixed.
If it's worth the effort you could open your scripts with a text editor and search and replace all your "20's" for
"twenties", just a thought.

That would make sense, and I suspected as much. Except how do I type the different types of apostrophes? I only see on character for that on my keyboard.

beside that, there are multiple apostrophes (well, they are different but
look alike, and have of course different char codes.
I highly suspect the problem to lie there.
