Tina,
Try importing your EDL into Xcel as a space delineated file. It will parse all the columns crorrectly, but your 4 lines at the top,(Title, Format, TC, etc) will be messed up cuz of the spaces. I normally save the edl 2 ways, Rec In/Out and Rec Duration, that will give you your clip duration.

Hi
I am looking for a way to get the information from an EDL from AVID 6 into a spreadsheet - probably numbers or google docs.
I've tried different ways - I think that the CMX3600 contains the information that I need - except duration of the clips.
I can only export is an EDL, and then change the .edl to .txt, but when I try to import it into the spreadsheet, then I have no control of how it looks - the information only appears in one collumn.
I've read that google docs accepts .csv (comma separated), but I don't know how to convert the EDL, if it is possible.
Perhaps Excel is the way, but I haven't got it...-yet. The reason I'm talking about google docs is because it is easy to share.
Basicly I'm just very lacy and have to manage hundreds of VFX-shots - reel, timecode, duration etc, and I'm trying to make it easy for my self.
So if any of you can point me in the right direction or have a great solution, I will be greatfull.
Cheers
