Hmm... relinking is a dark art best avoided when using Interplay.
Dynamic relink (the only way of relinking with interplay) works well... sometimes. Your drives have to be indexed.
It has one show-stopping gotcha that involves making some/all your clips offline when you 'send to playback'. Ouch. Have kept it turned off ever since.
I asked a similar question a few years ago and standalone mode seemed to be the answer...
