[Avid-L2] I just can't shut it off

 

So, ever since upgrading to Lion, I've been having this problem with the system, both laptop and workstations, where I will go to the apple menu and select either Shutdown or Restart and all that ends up happening is that it logs out of the user. Then I have to log back in and try again. I never had this problem with previous versions of the OSX operating system. And yes, I have thought that maybe it just sloppy menu navigation, but it's happening way to much. I just had to try to shut this one workstation down 3 times. And then it seems that half the time that I do get it to shut down the damn things auto restart in about 15sec. Does anyone have a hint as to what it could be?
