[Avid-L2] HELP with 59.94i media in a 23.976p project

 

Hi guys - in a bit of a jam here. I've been cutting footage from a 59.94i source into a sequence which is in a 23.976p project - so the sequence is 23.976 - using AMA mode.

I used FILE > OPEN > BIN to open a bin with the 59.94i footage in it, which is in a separate project that is 59.94i. In the bin where the master clip lives I went to bin column 'Field Motion' and selected 'Interlaced' form the choices available, the idea being that this would allow me to cut the 59.94i footage into the 23.976p sequence and avoid motion jitters or issues.
And when using AMA, it works well and all looks very smooth, BUT, after transcoding to Dnx175 the transcoded 59.94i footage is exhibiting motion jitters. Very noticeable.

Am I missing a step ? Or, is there some other way to get the 59.94i footage that was transcoded into Dnx175 to look and playback smoother ??

I did try a few combos with Time Warp, but to no avail.

Any thought or suggestions ?
