I had some random freezes today as well that required a hard restart.
MP OS 10.7.2.
At first I thought it was Photoshop related as I am running the Photoshop 6 public beta and saving files save to a unity. That turned out not to be the issue.
I have yousendit and it was set to auto launch at login, turned that off and haven't had issues since.
Coincidence???
