But having the track controls panel open adds another can of worms: takes
up real estate; if you have it closed, forces additional mouse clicks to
open it as it cannot (as far as I know, be mapped to the keyboard); when it
is open, increases difficulty of determining which track panel to turn on
when looking at clips in the time line. Like the smart tool, I find the
control panel cumbersome, and not necessary. It could just have been added
to the ever expanding in size mix tool. I had to scream just to get Doug to
put the ability to map to keyboard the volume in audio track data back in
place after it was removed in the early versions of 6. More form over
function when all I want is a hammer that acts like a hammer. "Tools for
story telling". Form over function has taken a big lead here, which is
disappointing.
