[Avid-L2] Re: Grading Monitors

 

Yeah, the lifespan for a BVM is scary, however that was true of the old HD BVM tubes also. And if you actually ran them at the SMPTE spec they would burn tubes in less than 1 year.

We use the delays built into the audio mixers to compensate for any plasma delay if it's noticeable to the client. But there shouldn't be any delay for progressive material as there is no extra processing.

And we use SDI as you are correct that HDMI doesn't support Psf.
