Ah! I noticed this! So THAT'S what's going on. We were actually looking at some of these clips via AMA, and I just thought it was performance lag.

Just as an FYI - lining HDSLR cameras up by audio will often place your picture
a couple of frames out of sync. That's because the recorded audio track on the
cameras are inherently 2 frame (or more) out. Test it with a slate and it's
pretty easy to verify.
