Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Dear Avid: Baselight and Resolve let's go!

There are a lot of advantages to being able to grade directly on the
timeline in Avid... But the tools in MC and even Symphony are really
showing their age compared to what is available in the free version of
Resolve, or a variety of other inexpensive or bundled tools (what will
happen with Speedgrade now Adobe owns it - CS6 is just around the corner).

But Avid already has so many of the building blocks for more advanced
correction. If they can merge the AniMatte and SpectraMatte tools into the
Symphony/MC correction tool then they are back in the game.

While I love the power of Resolve's node-based system, just the ability to
make more powerful secondaries and add "windows" would make Avid's tools a
lot more flexible.
