Reasonable to assume the automatic motion adapter is kicking in. Should be an easy adjustment.

The motion adapter can be fooled by the codec, too. (though it sounds correct in your scenario) like when people use the dvcproHD 60 codec but have a 23.98 frame rate. The motion adapter assumes its an interlace source and you have to tweak it. Even with that, the motion adapter is awesome- and guesses right 70% of the time.
