As someone who lost the system drive from this registry error back on a meridian symphony on Win 2K I went through many attempts to recover the drive. I did get it bootable again by manually forcing a default hive or some such thing, it's been several years since it happened. Once booted it didn't know anything about it's former self as far as apps etc. I ended up just starting from scratch and that was two days of complete fun. I do wish I remembered all the steps as I learned a lot about Hive and Heap errors IIRC but now they are a distant memory as it the meridian symphony with it's wonderful ultimatte chip. Man that reminds me how much I don't like spectramatte except it's render time.
