[Avid-L2] Re: Monitoring Closed Caption in HD?

 

I think I have found the box that will do what we want for cheap.

It's the BrightEye 72 from Ensemble Designs. This accepts an HD-SDI input and outputs that to HDMI and HD-SDI with Caption Decoding.

Their site says:

Open Caption Display for 608 and 708 closed caption data

It also has other stuff like:

HD-SDI to HDMI conversion
Time Code burn in
Audio meters for 16 channels
Graticule overlay
3G support
Analog Audio output

And all of the above for under $950. Seems good to me. What am I missing?
