I have not noticed drift issues but I'm not calibrating with a probe etc.... I can tell you I've shave several hours off my client watchdowns with the PVM because it looks so much better than other monitors we've rented, There are less questions on the color grade. The first project I worked with on the monitor was from a 4:4:4 master that was input 4:2:2 and it looked incredible. I'd be curious how the color drift compares with the old BVM SD models. The BVM HD CRTs seem to need tube replacement frequently when they were adjusted to SMPTE spec IIRC. Most of my work is reality/documentary stuff and for that the Sony is great even without probing it every few days but obviously the probing method is the correct thing to do. Unfortunately in my world I don't think monitors get anything but rudimentary calibration and you can forget about the rental monitors being setup with any degree of accuracy.

I do require pixel mapped 1080p displayed edge-to-edge at 24p to 60p (minimum) on digital input and professional controls to set color, luma, white balance, gamma, pixel mapping, etc...
